The era we live in is one where time management is EVERYTHING, especially if you’re in your 20s and trying to climb your way up the ladder. From work to home, from your bed to the gym, everything must be allocated a certain time frame in order to keep yourself on a fast-track. Similarly, kitchen is one such place where you cannot spend forever, considering how you may already have a gazillion other things to do. Conveniently, here are 8 simple and easy cooking hacks which will make sure your time in the kitchen is #MadeEasy

1. PERFECTLY BOILED EGGS!

Let’s face it. Learning a whole new language is easier than perfecting a boiled egg! However, a clever new trick can make you the boiled egg master in no time. Take a thumbtack and punch a hole at the base of an egg before boiling it. Try it, you will be amazed!

2. UN-STEMMING THE STRAW-BERRIES!

Need to quickly and neatly remove strawberry stems? Just use a straw! Poke a straw from the base of strawberry and push it straight up till it comes out from the top, along with the stem. Easy right?

3. GRATE CHEESE BEFORE IT MELTS?

Soft cheeses (like our favorite mozzarella) can be such a nuisance to grate because they tend to become mushy and melt very easily. A quick fix it to freeze the cheese for 30 minutes before grating. Smart right?

4. CAN YOU NOT BOIL OVER?!

If you’ve ever placed something with water in a pot and kept it on the stove, ran to the loo to empty your bladder quickly and came back to a pot that is boiling all over the place? Ugh, ridiculous right! To prevent overboiling, place a wooden spoon across the pot and it will save you the mess.

5. SEPARATING YOLKS

Need to quickly separate some egg whites from their yolks? Crack the eggs into a bowl such that the yolks are a little spaced apart. Take a small plastic bottle, place its opening above one of the yolks and squeeze the bottle. The yolk will get sucked into the bottle. Squeeze out the yolk in an empty bowl. Repeat with the rest of the yolks. Super easy and lots of fun.

6. DRINKABLE COFFEE

Ever made bad and bitter coffee in a hurry? Yes, we have all done it. To quickly fix it, add a pinch of salt to make it more drinkable. The salt balances the bitterness of the coffee. Cool beans, right?

7. PASTA LA VISTA

Coming back from work, all you need is fresh, hot food in front of you. For a quick fix, pre-soak pasta in water, sealed in a plastic bag for a few hours or overnight. Just take it out and put it in boiling water to cook it within 60 seconds.

8. CARAMELIZE ‘EM ONIONS NOW

Save your time by half while caramelizing onions by adding a pinch of baking soda to it. Who knew right?
