Peshawari Daal Bukhara

Peshawari Daal Bukhara is a rich, creamy lentil dish originating from Peshawar. This authentic Pakistani daal features black lentils slow-cooked with cream and butter, creating a restaurant-style dish perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients:

  • • 1 cup whole black lentils (urad daal)
  • • 2 tablespoons butter
  • • 1/2 cup cream
  • • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • • Ginger garlic paste (1 tbsp)
  • • Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek)
  • • Salt and spices to taste

1. Soak lentils overnight. Pressure cook until soft and mushy.

2. In pan, melt butter. Add onions, ginger garlic paste, and sauté until golden.

3. Add tomato puree and spices. Cook until oil separates.

4. Add cooked lentils, cream, and kasuri methi. Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with naan!
